Not much of an update today. Brain feels homogenized. So a meme instead.

Yoinked from [info]moviegrrl - Post a picture in the comments of what you think describes me when you think about what/who I am. Give no written explanation though. Just an image.

NOTE: No Zod pictures. I got that one covered enough, thanks ;-)

(Optional) Copy and paste into your own journal and see what others think about you in pictures.

Although I have no idea why I'm telling YOU guys this. But maybe you can pass it on to someone who needs to hear it.

So in the midst of post-con letdown I decided to go to WonderCon. Had a nice enough time, but man do I not like the average comic-book fanboy/girl. As [info]britgeekgrrl pointed out to me that Saturday (she came in with me to see the Fox Studios panel on "The X-Files"); "Keep in mind that your average gamer is actually a pretty social person, as they get together once a week or a couple of times a month and game with others. How often do you think any of these people actually get out and interact with...well, anyone?" Pretty cogent point.

So no more comic conventions for me, I think. The once was enough.

...

Got ahold of an actual person at Kaiser...finally. Long story short, between the insurance hiccup earlier this month and Kaiser's switching over to a new computer system, I fell off their active database. Thus, the no contact for weeks. However, it's all straightened out now, and I'm seeing the surgeon next Wednesday, and I'm being fast-tracked for surgery late in March. Further updates there as they come in.

...

In other fun medical news, I seem to have a cracked bottom left molar. Where that came from is anybody's guess (probably from grinding my teeth at WonderCon). So I'm on antibiotics right now to get the rather impressive swelling down, and I have an appointment next week to have it taken out. I'm just all about the surgery this month, I guess.

...

Couple of you are still waiting on me for several things (game related, personal e-mails). I'm getting to them, I swear.

...

And because it looks like fun, a meme )

9. Been given a name by the Dali Lama (only two other people I know can claim this one).
10. Performed in a stage play on the West End in London (one night, one song, and that was it, but still...)

And a bonus item:
11. Have shaken the hand of three sitting American Presidents (Reagan, Clinton, Bush Sr.).

From [info]deirdremoon and others.

Costumers all tend to have a specific era or genre that appeals to us aesthetically, which is fine, but sometimes we get too focused and fail to appreciate other eras or genres that might suit our body type, our facial features, or even just challenge us to think outside the box a little bit. So, I'm opening the floor for suggestions: Give me one costume you'd want me to wear, and why. Picture links appreciated. :)

And then spread this meme like SARS and I'll try to do the same for you.

2.5 Seasons
( 46 Costs, 54 Reception, and 66 Cult Appeal )
Your tale is a tragic one indeed. You started off as a bit of a gamble, a new show with a little bit of a pricy budget, but lots of grand ideas. And against all odds, not only did you manage to snatch up devoted fans attracted to your new ideas and ways, but you also managed to secure critical attention. Although the ratings weren't quite up to expectations, FOX kept you alive hoping that your achievements were indicators of your true potential. So you lived on, and you fought harder and harder each day to realize that potential. But it never did come. FOX renews you for a third season as a last opportunity, but it fails to yield results, and your struggle comes to a sad end halfway through the third season.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

free online dating free online dating
You scored higher than 99% on Costs

free online dating free online dating
You scored higher than 99% on Reception

free online dating free online dating
You scored higher than 99% on Cult Appeal

Went to Mr. Pickwick's (soon to be rechristened "AJ's Sports Pub and Grill" - ick) last night, and left after ten minutes. Two favorite employees had been given the sack, the menu had been changed, a lot of the British-themed decorations were gone, and there were a bunch of new people who were, frankly, offensive (you know the type - they just come to a place to be noisy and drink, not to hang out with friends and chill after work).

I might poke my head in next week, but I have grave doubts. The guy who runs the trivia night thinks that by the new year, whatever charm the old place had will be gone.

I need to find a new local pub. If I don't get a cider infusion about once every couple of weeks or so, I'm going to get...cranky. You wouldn't like me when I'm...cranky.

Online journals are little filters which we each see every one else's lives through, the parts others choose to share with us. That said, we all think we're close, but we seldom know a lot about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that you think would be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

With a caveat...for now, I'm keeping comments screened for privacy. I'd like people to be able to ask me whatever question they'd like, even if it's a personal or potentially embarrassing one.
