Oh, California.

I'm so very disappointed in you right now, Obama brought me high, and you took me back down that roller coaster. What's next...banning the way other people worship? How about the diversity of what we read, or say? 'Cause once you start removing rights, it's a long slippery slope to things even worse.

I got up from bed to see what the results were. With 86% of the counties tallied, I see no hope of Prop. 8 not being carried through. Congratulations. You're well on your way to getting the government you truly deserve. Maybe I'll move back to Kansas. They may be batshit loony Red Staters, but they haven't curtailed Constitutional rights...yet.

My God. McCain is being gracious in defeat. Too bad his crowd at the speech isn't.

A black president. Whoah. MLK is resting a bit easier.

Election Night

I know it's a weeknight, and I know returns will be coming in until really late, but would anyone like to get together on Election Night? I have a feeling that if things go well, I'd like to celebrate with friends, and if things go badly, I'll need consoling. Also, if this did happen, anyone got an idea where we could get together that's a) local, and b) cheap?

So go out there and celebrate as the Emperor would want you to...by being kind to one another, and doing whatever you can for the equality of all, one of the Emperor's most dearly held and cherished beliefs.

I apologize to any Republican friends (if I have any), but come on...who else is going to vote for him?

Super Tuesday Death March, Part the Fifth

Well, CNN.com is declaring California for Clinton and McCain, although the Democratic delegate split is going to be enough to keep the Obama campaign in the fight. On the Republican side, McCain now looks to be the Republican presumptive nominee, but Huckabee's surprisingly strong showing in the South keeps him the number two man, and a possible spoiler. New Mexico and Alaska are still in play, but man, that's enough for me tonight. I'll catch you all tomorrow, as we take a look at how the ballot initiatives here in the Golden State did.

Well, here we go. The polls here in California have just closed. Huckabee, Romney, and Clinton have given their Super Tuesday speeches, and we're waiting for McCain and Obama, who themselves are waiting for Missouri to finish reporting, as it seems to be very, very close there. I really want to go to bed (been a bit under the weather the last couple of days), but I also want to see the projections come in.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know I just posted like, ten seconds ago, but this has to be said...

I've seen a couple of folks on e-mail lists and LJ commenting on how they didn't vote today, and that they really don't care to. Groovy, you go with your stupid self. The only people that have any excuse are those that live here and can't vote (like [info]britgeekgrrl, who is looking forward to one day being able to cast a ballot). And when I see someone who COULD have voted but DIDN'T bitching about how the country is going down the shitter, or how unfairly some program you supported is being treated in the face of budget cuts, I'll tell you to your face that you should have voted, and that if you're upset, it's your own fucking fault.

Clinton losing big in the South is not a good thing for her campaign, regardless of winning New Jersey, New York, and Arkansas. Georgia and Alabama typically show where the South will march in an election, and with 85% plus of black voters swinging towards Obama, that's not what Hils wanted to see tonight.

Although now, I see that Clinton is expected to take Tennessee. Hm. Well, still too early to call. Let's see what happens when polls close out here in the West.

As a postscript, Huckabee really is a delusional little troll, isn't he?

All righty, here we go. Got the CNN.com feed up, rolling through the talking heads on the television...if I could somehow manage to watch some "West Wing" or an Aaron Sorkin commentary at the same time without my head exploding, it'd be a perfect evening, politics-wise.

So far, it looks to be a much better evening for McCain and Obama than anyone was expecting, but for once, for the Democrats a lot is riding on California and our 370 delegates (of which 71 are "super" delegates). As it should be.

Yeah yeah...I know. I haven't posted for a while. Honestly? I've been getting tired of talking about the cancer, and lately that seems to be ALL I was able to post about. So I took a break for a while. And if you've been keeping up with [info]britgeekgrrl's journal (and shame on you if you haven't), you'll know we've had some ups and downs lately, and those have kind of pre-occupied me as well. Hopefully I'll get around to posting more often, if only as a means of getting me away from the computer games I've been playing incessantly.

However, just to keep you updated, I do have another surgery coming up sometime before the end of January. This time it's to get a small tumor off my liver. To add to the fun, my gall bladder will have to go as well, as the tumor is just pressing into it, and the surgeon feels it's better to be safe than sorry. I'm probably looking at three to four days recovery in the hospital, which won't be so bad as long as I don't get a next-door neighbor who screams all the time, as I did my last visit. In any case, I should be up and around in plenty of time for DunDraCon.

And that's all I've got to say about that.

...

In other news (and this pertains solely to gaming), does anyone out there know of a really good wiki hosting site? I want to make some pages for my ongoing 7th Sea game, but I know exactly diddily about making and maintaining wikis, and I'd like the process to be as painless as possible. Help?

...

Damn, but does watching New Hampshire Primary results rolling in make me want to run a West Wing-ish LARP when the Democratic and Republican National conventions kick off. Rent a hotel room someplace, invite all my LARP friends to wear their best power suits, and set up a couple of TV's to watch the fun as lobbyists and White House staffers.

I might have to give that some thought.

...

Almost forgot. Got my mail-in ballot for the California Primary today, so that's my reminder for my annual "go out and vote, f*ckers" message. Ready?

Go out and vote, f*ckers.

A Coincidence?

Today, Mercury transits the sun, which happens about thirteen times every 100 years. On the same day, Donald Rumsfield resigns.

A sign from the heavens, indeed...
