I'm so very disappointed in you right now, Obama brought me high, and you took me back down that roller coaster. What's next...banning the way other people worship? How about the diversity of what we read, or say? 'Cause once you start removing rights, it's a long slippery slope to things even worse.

I got up from bed to see what the results were. With 86% of the counties tallied, I see no hope of Prop. 8 not being carried through. Congratulations. You're well on your way to getting the government you truly deserve. Maybe I'll move back to Kansas. They may be batshit loony Red Staters, but they haven't curtailed Constitutional rights...yet.

Although I have no idea why I'm telling YOU guys this. But maybe you can pass it on to someone who needs to hear it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know I just posted like, ten seconds ago, but this has to be said...

I've seen a couple of folks on e-mail lists and LJ commenting on how they didn't vote today, and that they really don't care to. Groovy, you go with your stupid self. The only people that have any excuse are those that live here and can't vote (like [info]britgeekgrrl, who is looking forward to one day being able to cast a ballot). And when I see someone who COULD have voted but DIDN'T bitching about how the country is going down the shitter, or how unfairly some program you supported is being treated in the face of budget cuts, I'll tell you to your face that you should have voted, and that if you're upset, it's your own fucking fault.

From CNN: Top general: Remarks on gays were 'personal moral views'

Gee, really? Then maybe you should have kept your personal feelings to yourself while wearing the fucking uniform, you ass!

Some days it's really a struggle to restrain the impulse to grab idiots like Pace and slap sense into them until they bleed from the eyes. How they got the idea that unit cohesion would falter if gays and lesbians were allowed to serve openly is beyond me. There have been uniformed professionals that I have known that were absolutely convinced that the only reason a gay man would sign up is so that he could go on a four-year booty call.

'Cause you know, gays and lesbians have no sense of civic duty or patriotism, and you'd be a fool and a Communist to think otherwise. < /rant >

(Fair warning - I enjoy a good debate as much as the next person, so if you're thinking of responding in the negative to the above opinion and you've got good and worthy arguements to support your position, I say bring it on. But you should be warned that I had a real bad night last night, so if you decide to post with nothing more than a gay-bash rant in mind, I will cut you out at the knees and post your IP address in as many pro-gay and -lesbian message boards as I can find.)
